Earth Day All Year Long

Off

The inaugural Earth Day in spring 1970 was created by Senator Gaylord Nelson in an effort to generate a national dialogue about environmental issues.

Senator Nelson’s idea worked — an estimated twenty million Americans demonstrated across the country on April 22, 1970.

Soon thereafter, the United States Congress authorized the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As we celebrate Earth Day 2022, we recognize the importance of being stewards of the earth as we deliver world-class emergency environmental services. Learn More.
